All I can say it was pretty cool never killed one before. I've seen several just never the right time or place. This is my first year putting actual effort in other than a couple days driving around with a rifle. I hit it hard the first of August hunting five days dawn to dusk. Hiking old roads with with wild blackberries, glassing old cuts, sitting on swamp meadows and calling. NO DICE. Lots of sign scat tracks you name it. Today we just got home from camping... Yes I took my rifle on our camping trip in all hopes of being lucky enough to whack one up by walupt lake. Nothin there either. Anyway I told my wife I was gonna go sit in one my spots this evening till dark. I got in there and found some fresh tracks which was uplifting but nothing new. After about 30 minutes I heard a couple branches break and the next thing I know there he is about 45 yds away checking the wind and looking around. I settled my crosshairs on his chest and squeezed the trigger. He began spinning circle and I put another in him dropping him in his tracks. It happened so quick it was unbelievable. The first shot hit him just left of the center of his chest. The second caught him just above the corner of his mouth on the left side. After skinning him out we found a broken off arrow in the haunch area embedded in his spine. What a tough animal!

Awesome bear, and with the bow to boot. Congrats.
